What Weight Loss Looks Like

With the help of a very dear friend, I learned the power of visualizing what it will look like when you reach your goals.  It is a strong motivator when you take the time to write a letter to your future self.

In this this letter congratulate yourself.

Remind yourself how far you have come.

Let yourself know that you made it, even through the struggles. William Arthur Fine Stationery

Here is my letter, what will yours look like?

Dear Jessica,
You have come so far on your journey. YOU ARE A SUCCESS! Take a look at where you have come from. You came from the bottom and now you are at the top. I am so PROUD of you!
You have achieved your goal weight. You started at a whopping 285 pounds just a few short years ago and now look at you. YOU ROCK! You have so much more energy, self-confidence and self-worth.
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
It has made all the difference. You stumbled, but you got back up. You had a “bad” day, but you continued. You learned so much.
Jessica, you learned that this journey was far more than weight loss, you learned that it was about becoming a whole you. Somewhere along your life’s path you lost part of who you were. You found it during these last couple of years and so much more.
You got to where you are today by creating streaks that you could see. As each link on the chain was added with each workout, you grew just a little. You became proud of your achievements; you learned that you really do matter. Your confidence is through the roof (although, still not as narcissistic as Andy…hehe)!
You were so good at changing small habits into healthier habits. You slowly changed the way you eat to one that is healthy and full on nutrition. You leave every meal feeling satisfied and know that you have proper fuel. You now have so much energy that you are unstoppable.
Through your struggles you found that you can endure the emotions, you can endure the push. You have developed a sense of where life is leading you. You now have the strength to conquer the world. LOOK at YOU! You are using the tools from your weight loss journey to build your business.
You know that every day may throw new obstacles your way, but they are just that. You will figure out how to overcome them and add that bit of new knowledge to your repertoire. You have learned that your business will need proper fuel, care, and maintenance just as your body is an awesome machine that needs proper fuel, care, maintenance. You discovered that your business, just like your health needs to be reflected upon. It is that reflection that makes you stronger and more able to succeed. Just like your health, your business needs consistency. Consistency in workouts, consistency in journaling (blogging), consistency in your to-do list.
Each goal you want to reach is achievable by breaking it down into chewable steps. Every goal has mini-goals. You found out that rewards have a huge impact on your success. Along with feeling the happiness from the achievement, you also have a visual representation as a constant reminder.
Just keep reminding yourself that you are beautiful, worth it, contagious, strong, confident and successful. These are what got you through your weight loss journey and will continue getting you through your business journey.
Your health is a never ending journey, but you will be successful!
Jessica
