5 Exercise Myths that are Keeping You from Losing Weight (Myth #3)


Using “Burn Fat While You Sleep” Products Will Help You Lose More Weight

 

I have clients ask about these type of weight loss aids all the time.  First, I want to say that you can lose weight without any “diet pills” or supplements.

Myth: Diet pills and other diet products that help you burn fat while you sleep will aid in weight loss.

Fact:  Your body already burns fat while it sleeps, taking a diet product that claims to do it for you does not increase your fat burn while you sleep.

The fact of the matter is that you are constantly burning calories.  Your body does not shut down at night like most people believe it to do.  Think about it…Do you stop breathing?  Does your heart stop beating?  No, your body’s systems are still working while you sleep and as long as they are working you are burning calories.

When you rest or sleep your body will slow down, which is good for the healing process.  It does not shut down completely.  Taking “diet pills” such as Ambislim are not needed to help you lose weight while you sleep.  You already lose weight while you sleep if you have a good diet and exercise plan in place.Weight Loss Pills are not needed

On the other hand, it has been shown that those who get 7+ hours of sleep will burn more calories than those who only get around 5 hours of sleep.  So thinking in those terms, sleeping will help you lose more weight.

Those who get more sleep have higher levels of leptin, a hormone that helps control your appetite.  Those who get less sleep produce less leptin causing them to be hungrier throughout the day.

One of the best ways to increase your weight loss (at any time during the day) is to build more muscles.  This does not mean that you have to bulk up, just becoming more tone will do the trick.

Fat on the body burns about 2 calories every day for each pound of fat.  On the other hand, each pound of muscle will burn about 6-10 calories.

It is a myth that you can take a pill to burn more calories while you sleep.  Your body naturally burns calories.  What you need to do instead is eat a healthy diet full of nutritional foods and exercise regularly with both cardio and strength training exercises.
