Take Control of Your Stress & Reduce Your Weight

Be honest with yourself, how often do you feel stress taking over your life?

It is normal for the average person to experience stressful situations, or potentially stressful situations on a daily basis. You are not the average person.

You are a person trying to live your dream and reach your goals!

You have decided to take control of your life and do what you want to do with it. You have decided to start your own business, be a stay at home parent, or work from home. You have decided that you want to be different from everyone else and actually live your dream life.

You have decided to live a life of more stress than the average person.

I am not saying that you are always going to be stressed, nor am I saying that stress has to be a way of life for you.

You have the ability to take control of your stress.

How you decided to deal with those stressful situations is going to determine the amount of stress that you feel.

It’s time you face the truth, you have a lot on your plate. You have the back end and the front end of your business to run. Sometimes you may have help and sometimes it may need to be hunkering down and completing the task. Whatever the case may be, you have the option to live a low stress life. Yes, even when you choose to live your life differently than the status quo.

You are most likely thinking, “I’m extremely busy; I don’t have time to reduce my stress.” or, “I have to do everything on my own; I can’t break the cycle of stress, that is my life.”

Neither of these have to be true. Just as you do not have to have a “JOB” to pay the bills.

One of the best ways I have learned to control my stress is to learn that I

only have control over so much of my life, the rest is left to “life.” Things do happen even when you have the best of intentions.

Figure out how you can control the things that are actually in your control.

1. You can control your agenda – take time to plan your day. Do this every morning. You may want a rough plan the night before to help you sleep, but plan the morning of, after you have checked your calendar. Then, as you plan when and what you need to accomplish allow yourself adequate time. If you feel that you need half an hour to work on your next article, give yourself 15 more minutes. This will allow you time in case you need it, or a small break once you finish.

2. Schedule breaks – schedule 15 minute breaks into your day. I have heard several people say get up every hour for five minutes and move around (I even mentioned this in my second tip), however you need more than this. The hourly movement will help relax and reenergize you, but you need a longer break to truly relax. Every 2-3 hours you need to schedule a 15 minute break. Be sure that you take that break. Use it to sit in silence, read a book, meditate, get a quick workout in, or take a nap. Use the fifteen minutes as a way to relax and refresh your soul.

3. Schedule cardio – every day you should complete at least 20 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. This is exercise that gets your heartrate up for a prolonged period of time. You will not only feel great after your workout, but you will find that your mind and body are able to control more stress. Exercise is a great way to rejuvenate your body.

As you begin to apply the tips discovered throughout Weight Loss on the Go, you will find that your stress levels lower. Making small changes to your daily life that help you become more organized and reach your weight loss goals will naturally help you reduce your stress.

You will find that it is a cycle. The less stress you have the easier it is to control your weight and the more you lose weight, the easier it is to control your stress.
